President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received the Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, who paid his first official visit to Azerbaijan, was received by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Minister Gürlek conveyed the greetings of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to President Aliyev, who in turn expressed his gratitude to the President Erdoğan for the greetings.

Minister Gürlek stated that the relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, founded upon common history, culture, and bonds of brotherhood, have been further strengthened each passing day thanks to the cordial ties between the leaders of the two countries.

Minister Gürlek noted that under the leadership of the President Aliyev, Azerbaijan has undergone a significant development process; and he highlighted the country’s economic progress, its growing international reputation, and the historic victory achieved in Karabakh.

Minister of Justice Gürlek emphasized that Azerbaijan has assumed a significant role in the implementation of regional energy, transportation, and connectivity projects, including strategic initiatives such as the Zangezur Corridor, and affirmed that Türkiye would continue to stand by Azerbaijan henceforth.

During the meeting, the satisfaction was expressed over the successful development of the fraternal and allied relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in all fields.

It was noted that effective cooperation has been established between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries, and an exchange of views was held on matters aimed at further enhancing this cooperation.

MINISTER GÜRLEK MET WITH MINISTER OF JUSTICE AHMADOV AND PROSECUTOR GENERAL ALIYEV OF AZERBAIJAN

As part of his official visit to Baku, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov and Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev. Stressing that the inter-delegational talks were productive, Minister Gürlek stated as follows: “We have comprehensively assessed the steps to further advance our judicial cooperation, which has already reached a strategic level between our countries, particularly with regard to strengthening mechanisms of mutual legal assistance. We expressed our determination to jointly combat transnational crimes and criminal organizations. We underlined the importance of ensuring more effective operation of mutual legal assistance processes and reinforcing the extradition mechanism. As two friendly and brotherly nations, we will continue to develop our strong relations in all fields on the basis of mutual trust, solidarity, and our unshakable brotherhood. I extend my gratitude to my counterpart Mr. Farid Ahmadov and Prosecutor General Mr. Kamran Aliyev for their valuable hospitality.”

Within the framework of his official visit to Azerbaijan, Minister Gürlek visited the Embassy in Baku and received a briefing from the Ambassador Birol Akgün regarding the ongoing activities.
