REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

Minister of Justice, Mr. Bekir Bozdağ, met with the Minister of Justice of State of Palestine, Mr. Mohammed Shaladeh.

During the meeting held at the Ministry, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ankara, Dr. Faed Mustafa, and his delegation accompanied Mr. Shaladeh.

TÜRKİYE IS ONE OF THE STRONGEST DEFENDANTS OF THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE IN THE WORLD

Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ stated that he was glad to host Palestinian Minister of Justice Shaladeh and noted that the cooperation in judicial matters was evaluated at the meeting. Minister Bozdağ emphasized that Türkiye was one of the strongest defenders of the Palestinian cause regarding the problems in Palestine, and he said as follows: “We reviewed and evaluated our cooperation on judicial matters together. We agree on the problems and difficulties faced by Palestine. We agree on Türkiye's stance. Türkiye is one of the strongest defenders of the Palestinian cause in the world. We told them that we will continue to defend the Palestinian cause, because Türkiye justifies the Palestinian cause. We will continue to stand up for and speak the truth in the face of the injustices suffered by the Palestinian people and state.”  

WE WILL UPDATE THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON COOPERATION

Minister Bozdağ stated that the need for updating the memorandum of understanding on cooperation, signed last May with the friendly country Palestine in judicial matters, in the new period was also evaluated; and he continued his words as follows:

“We focused on the need to update the memorandum of understanding, signed last May, in the new period. We exchanged views on forensic medicine, technological developments and changes, the legal rules applied in our country, alternative resolution methods, and how we can cooperate on other issues. We evaluated the steps that we could take jointly to move our cooperation to a stronger stage in the next period. We made some decisions. We will implement the decisions taken in the upcoming process together. Türkiye will continue to stand by Palestine, a friendly and brotherly country, today and tomorrow as it was yesterday. As the Ministry of Justice, we will continue to strengthen our cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Justice in judicial matters.”

TÜRKİYE IS LEADING TO THE DEFENCE OF OUR SACRED VALUES

Palestinian Minister of Justice Shaladeh made a statement after the meeting, and he stated that they had always felt the support of Türkiye and the President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He said as follows: “We know the constant support and the usual support of the Republic of Türkiye and Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. For the Palestinian people, we appreciate this support. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Republic of Türkiye defend all the rights of the Palestinian people. The Republic of Türkiye does this politically and legally, especially the right of the Palestinian people to determine their future. Türkiye is leading the way in defending our holy places such as Jerusalem and Al-Halil. Because our people are living in difficult conditions under occupation. After the visit of our Honourable President Mahmud Abbas, we, as the ministers, come to Türkiye. We would like to thank the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mr. Minister of Justice.”

The Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. Yakup Moğul and the Director General of Foreign Relations and European Union Affairs Mr. Kasım Çiçek were also present at the meeting.
