Minister of Justice Mr. Yılmaz Tunç stated that Türkiye, which was directed by privileged groups, was left behind and said, “Efforts to direct the judiciary and politics are contrary to the spirit of democracy and the principle of the rule of law.”
In his social media post, Minister Yılmaz Tunç emphasized that the Republic of Türkiye is a state of law and that no institution, organization or interest group is above the national will. He noted that one of the cornerstones of our democratic system is the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary.
TÜRKİYE IS NOT TÜRKİYE OF THE PAST
Minister Tunç made the following statements in his message:
“The Republic of Türkiye is a state of law.
No institution, organization or interest group is above the national will.
One of the cornerstones of our democratic system is the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary.
Everyone should know very well that we do not accept any pressure on judicial processes and that we oppose any attempt to influence the judiciary.
While it is of course a democratic right for civil society organizations to express their views, their efforts to direct the judiciary and politics are contrary to the spirit of democracy and the principle of the rule of law.
Democracy is the common legacy not only of certain circles, but of the nation and the state as a whole.
Türkiye is not Türkiye of the past.
Those who do not understand that Türkiye, which was ruled by privileged groups, is now left behind, should know this;
No one or no organization can consider itself above the will of the nation and the law.
No one should have any doubt that we will respond to any attempt to interfere with the rule of law in the strongest way within the framework of the law, as we have done so far.”
