Türkiye is a country which has undertaken to abide by the decisions of the ECHR and it always fulfilled the necessities of this undertaking.

Türkiye is one of the countries with the highest rate for abiding by the decisions of the ECHR. Likewise, the member states’ rate of execution for the ECHR decisions is 80.20% while the execution rate of Türkiye is 87.98%. The execution process of the other decisions has been ongoing.

Turkish judicial authorities stated repeatedly that they applied the decision dated 10 December 2019 which was rendered against Kavala by the ECHR.

Even though there exist 22 files in the agenda of the Grand Chamber of the ECHR and almost all of the currently pending files were transmitted to the Grand Chamber on the dates prior to the transmission of Kavala file and some part of the said files was transmitted to there at least a year ago; the scheduling to an earlier time of the Kavala file would influence negatively the reliability and the reputation of the ECHR and it would also raise the discussions in our public opinion regarding the ECHR’s objectivity and impartiality against Türkiye.
