MINISTER TUNÇ MET WITH HIS HUNGARIAN COUNTERPART TUZSON

Minister of Justice Mr. Yılmaz Tunç met with Hungarian Minister of Justice Mr. Bence Tuzson.

Minister Tunç met with his counterpart Tuzson and his delegation at the Ministry of Justice of Türkiye. Minister Tunç made statements after the meeting noting that they made evaluations on fostering cooperation between two countries, especially improving judicial cooperation,

Emphasizing that the relations between Hungary and Türkiye are based on deep historical ties, Minister Tunç added that "Two countries share a common cultural heritage. In fact, political, judicial, economic, educational and cultural relations between countries intensively continue today as it did in the past. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between Türkiye and Hungary signed in 1923, 2024 is mutually celebrated as the Hungarian Turkish culture year. The activities to be organized within this scope will help to better promote our common history and culture”.

Stating that both countries are open for the development of cooperation in legal matters, Minister Tunç, shared information on UYAP (National Judicial Informatics System) and the works of Justice Academy of Türkiye.

 

WE WISH TÜRKİYE GETS CLOSER TO THE EUROPEAN UNION

Hungarian Minister of Justice Bence Tuzson said that: “The people of both countries enjoy historically very good relations by adding that Hungary will hold the EU Term Presidency in the upcoming period. We live in a completely changed world. We are surrounded by ravaging wars, we are facing a huge migration problem, and there is a very important issue of competition. The EU is lagging behind its major competitors China and the US in terms of competition. By virtue of our friendship, we would like to see Türkiye’s getting closer to the European Union. We want to mobilize this. To this end, we would like to bring to the table the matters of law, justice and competition power."
