MINISTER OF JUSTICE YILMAZ TUNÇ MADE A SPEECH AT THE CEREMONY FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES AND PUBLIC PROSECUTORS

1102 JUDGES AND PUBLIC PROSECUTORS WERE APPOINTED WITH DRAW

 

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated as follows: “Law exists to protect human dignity. It is possible with the law for everyone to live with dignity, not to harm others, and finally to be given their rights to the righteous. The basis of social order is justice.”

 

Minister Tunç, who attended the appointment ceremony for the Judges and Public Prosecutors in Ordinary Justice and for the Judges in Administrative Justice, stated that 1102 judges and public prosecutors were appointed by drawing.

 

Minister Tunç, who emphasized the independence and impartiality of the judiciary, stated as follows: “The judiciary was ceased to be the backyard of certain groups and was given its essential identity by becoming the judiciary of the nation, instead of the tutelage understanding of the judiciary.”

 

APPOINTMENT OF 1102 CANDIDATE JUDGES AND PUBLIC PROSECUTORS WITH DRAW

 

Minister Tunç stated that with the participation of our esteemed judges and public prosecutors, who chose to work hard for the manifestation of justice and who had an honourable profession by reaching the authority of judging on behalf of the nation with their personal convictions in accordance with the law; he wholeheartedly believed that our judicial organizations would become even stronger. Minister Tunç continued his words as follows:

“975 candidates, including 733 judges and 242 public prosecutors, from among the 25th term candidate judges and public prosecutors in the ordinary justice who completed their two-year internship and training;

67 candidates, including 50 judges and 17 public prosecutors, from among the 11th term candidate judges and public prosecutors in the ordinary justice who passed through the legal profession and completed their internship;

60 candidate judges from among 15th term candidate judges in the administrative justice; were accepted into the profession. 1102 judges and public prosecutors will be appointed with drawing.”

 

THE BASIS OF SOCIAL ORDER IS JUSTICE

 

Minister Tunç stated that the purpose and goal of law is justice, and justice is giving the right to the righteous. He continued his words as follows: “Law exists to protect human dignity. It is possible with the law for everyone to live with dignity, not to harm others, and finally to be given their rights to the righteous. The basis of social order is justice. In our belief, whoever does good will see it, and whoever does evil will see it. The fact that everyone gets what they deserve fairly, creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Our judges, public prosecutors and lawyers, who constitute the three pillars of the judiciary, are there to achieve what is fair.”

 

 

GREAT PROGRESS WAS MADE IN THE FIELD OF JUSTICE

 

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç emphasized that great progress was made in the field of justice under the leadership of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He also stated as follows: 

“Our justice organization was freed from the sounds of typewriters under the stairs, the carbon and photocopy papers requested from lawyers, and gained modern physical facilities equipped with all the possibilities of technology. In 21 years, our country witnessed reforms that could be considered as a silent revolution. The targets set by judicial reform strategy documents and human rights action plans were implemented one by one. Obstacles to human rights and freedoms were removed and the principle of the democratic state of law was strengthened.” 

 

INDEPENDENCE AND IMPARTIALITY OF THE JUDICIARY WAS STRENGTHENED

 

Minister Tunç emphasized that the independence and impartiality of the judiciary was strengthened. He also stated as follows: “The judiciary was ceased to be the backyard of certain groups and was given its essential identity by becoming the judiciary of the nation, instead of the tutelage understanding of the judiciary.”   

Minister Tunç continued his words as follows:

“In the face of the July 15 coup attempt, 7th anniversary of which passed last week, we witnessed the presence of members of the judiciary who initiated investigations against the coup plotters and traitors in the first minutes, carried out detentions and arrests, and showed great heroism in this dark night. On behalf of the nation, we express our gratitude to our members of the judiciary, who struggle to protect the rights and laws of the nation. They are important examples for you, our esteemed young colleagues who come after them.”
